Not since CETA came into effect. 98% have been eliminated, and we have started to comply with European trademark laws.
Eg: you can't buy 'Gouda' in the store anymore, now it's 'soft ripened cheese'.
So why is EU dairy okay but US dairy is a threat to Canada's national security?
Because the CETA deal is we import X KG of their dairy, they import the same from us. Both of our supply management systems are satisfied.
With the US, your amount of overproduction exceeds our entire industry. You could wipe out the entire Canadian industry with discount crap and not even notice. And I write 'crap' because there are things you allow in dairy and poultry that are not allowed here, like antibiotics and growth hormones.
