To whom wre you addressing this.

Hopefully not me, as I've already seen the Doc and he says there is no cause for further worry (assuming the nail finishes seperating without assistance - intentional or accidental). I've looked under the nail and it appears the same as the rest of the toe, i.e., a big, pink appendage attached (quite securely) to my right foot.

Chevyanne Chevyanne:
Maybe we should call you 'Nine nails'. well if the fact that you don't have to trim the one nail make you happy, maybe you should get out the hammer and finish the job, there's only 9 left!

Uhh, thanks for the advice. I think.

I have enough daily pain to deal with from old injuries, that I doubt self-inflicted pain and injury for the sake of convenience (?) will ever rate high on my 'to-do' list.

It's not normal? I assumed it was. Thanks for the warning.

Use some arnica cream on that bruise.

No need to apologize, I realized (after the fact) whom you were addressing when I recalled MissT's cautionary post to you.

IT might seem frightening (the departing toe nail), but since there is no signs of injury or infection, and very little pain, I find this whole episode rather amusing (in a "aren't you a silly nit for not seeing a doctor" kind of way).

Ahh well, no harm, no foul (and no big toe nail to trim :) ).

You need to wear a garlic necklace, also wear a crucifix.
Keep your door locked after dark.
Give van Helsing a call.

If it persists give me a call and I will bring over a couple of wooden stakes.

GunPlumber, you might also do with some arnica cream. Arnica's a herbal remedy, excellent for healing bruises and general bashedupness. Check out any "natural" section in a drugstore or chemist. You can also take it homeopathically. DrT's tip for the day. Hmm, are there any rules or against giving medical advice on this forum? Sounds like a legal minefield so I better refrain.

I dunno, I dont think so, just make sure you state you have whatever qualifications you have, I did nursing school for three years so Im no doc, but I know a few things.

No matter what is said here, dont do anything without talking to your own doc of course.
