MickeyMoose MickeyMoose: Considering how long the lefties on council were getting their way for so long, making the exact same types of comments, even stooping to ridiculing people who disagreed with them, it is about time they got a taste of their own medicine. The lefties can sure dish it out but they can never take it, give them a little of their own type of attacks, they cry like babies. Well I think me and thee will get along quite nicely! Welcome to CKA MM!

mentalfloss mentalfloss: The people will speak for Ontario just as they did for Toronto. And when Fox news comes to Canada, the whole nation will carry an even greater volume of rational discourse before they go to vote. You call Fox News "rational discourse"? Seriously?

There's no way you can compare the odd-ball antics of the odd councilor (not all of whom are even 'lefties')with the spectacle put on by Cherry at what is supposed to be non-partisan, family friendly event.

This is about the first time in a long time, after reading all of this, that I feel sorry for folks in Toronto. Looks like the asshats you've been locally electing over the last couple of decades, regardless of party affiliation, have really served up one fuck of an ugly shit sandwich that you guys all have to take a big bite from.
Makes me glad, moreso, to be in Calgary. All the mischevious adventures of out local dummies pale in comparison to what your ones get up to. Goddamn democracy, it's the worst system ever invented! Where's that mythical good king who doesn't take crap from nobody when we really need him?

It's even worse for Ontarians outside Toronto. We pay for Toronto but get nothing from it. Thanos Thanos: Makes me glad, moreso, to be in Calgary. Huh. That guy was about as far away from being 'good' as anyone ever could have been. Most of the damned fiscal problems everywhere in the entire country are directly attributable to the economic waves he generated back in the 1970's.

Kind of. I view him a creature of pure evil, worse even than Basement Cat. And I'm not alone.

Lemmy Lemmy: Albertans view Trudeau like Georgians view Lincoln. Not all Albertans. I agree with Albertans that he could be a prick, but I honestly believe that most of what he did was for the benefit of all Canadians, not just Ontarians, Quebeckers or Albertans. He was willing to make hugely unpopular decisions as long as they benefited more Canadians than they harmed - like the NEP, declaring martial law during the FLQ crisis, repatriating the BNA Act, etc. While I may not have agreed with all of his decisions, I think he honestly felt that they were beneficial for Canada as a whole, not just some parts of it. To me, that's a real PM - making decisions on a national basis, not a regional one. Nowadays all our politicians are so concerned with kissing Ontario & Quebec's ass so they can get a majority that everyone else suffers.

Gunnair Gunnair: romanP romanP: Did you read the article? Ford said right after Don Cherry's speech that he did not expect him to go off like he did. Everyone else knew it was a bad idea and were not surprised at all. Even Don Cherry calls out Rob Ford's ignorant reaction at the end of the article! Who is everyone else? All of the other people mentioned in the article. And probably the rest of the world.

EyeBrock EyeBrock: Roman, you should worry about who's running city hall where you live. What if I would like to live in Toronto sometime in the next four years? What if I have friends in Toronto who will be affected by Rob Ford's obviously terrible decision making abilities? Just because you're careless doesn't mean everyone has to be.

QBall QBall: All the years that Rob Ford had to ensure being called names by the same councilors who are whining now in the same chamber, well, I guess payback's a bitch. Oh, so THAT's what mayors are for. I thought they got elected to run a city and make important decisions. Apparently you actually become mayor to get revenge. Gawd, what a fuckin idiot I must be.

Mustang1 Mustang1: Sorry, i'd rather take Dalton (and his share of mistakes) than a Harris-throw back who won't get rid of the HST, all-day kindergarten and will only download more services, thus costing me more! Comparing those two, I think it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. Mike Harris took people's rights away economically. Dalton McGuinty does it with fences, truncheons and torture.
