Veganism is unhelathy. UNtil the next study. For Chrissake they can't even make up their minds about butter or margerine.

The old advice is the best. Eat moderately, mostly plants.

I know vegetarians (aka:pescetarian) that take cod liver oil supplements all the time. Vegetarianism is a spectrum, not a black and white.

Read the study Zip. 330 participants, in each of 3 categories. And they never determine if the maladys are a result of the diet, or the diets are a result of the malady. People who eat lots of meat are more subject to Tinnitus? Really? Did the vegetarians choose that diet because of allergies, or are the allergies the result of eating less meat?

And it was all self reported. Another flawed study, picked up by the media and moulded to represent something it's not.

Well, one thing about being a Vegan, you may not live to be 100 but it will seem to take that long.

Everything is always about the latest study. FAct is that there is a heck of a lot of studies subject to confirmation and other biases.

Why Most Published Research Findings Are False

I'm not a vegan (can't remember the last time I heard the word "vegetarian") but I do find it comical when the pro-GMO, pro-tranfat, pro-HFCS, pro-steroid crowd that's reigned over skyrocketing rates of obesity and diabeties and basically has an anti-nutrition cultural bias suddently gets religious on nutrition, but only when it comes to vegans.

-2,000 calorie restaruant salads? So what, thats like not alot, right?
-1,500-calorie soda servings? It's a free country, don't tread on me!
-Industrially produced trans-fats: Hey, they taste good and you only live once
-Soaring rates of diabeties, high blood pressure, obesity? We don't need you health nazis judging us for what we do or don't eat. If I want to eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner I will and I better not hear a peep from you.

-You're a Vegan? GOOD LORD!!! WHERE DO YOU GET PROTEIN???? THAT'S AN ESSENTIAL BUILDING BLOCK OF A BALANCED DIET!!!

Your gorilla poster is pure, unadulterated bullshit. Gorillas, like humans, require vitamin B12 for proper brain and CNS function. Vitamin B12 is not found in plants.

It`s not meat that is causing problems, it`s the mass produced processed crap that we consume and the store bought beef and pork that is pumped full of steroids and antibiotics. A diet where most of your protein is wild game and fish, and you consume plenty of fruits and veggies is the best there is. We`re picking up another hundred pounds of moose(ground and roasts) tomorrow and 75 lbs of jumper in Smeaton

Oh everything is bad for our health. Doesn't matter what you eat or how you eat it there will be someone telling you it's bad for your health. I was told once to be careful drinking water... said the additives in city water would kill me. you can't win

This thread reminds me of one of my favorite pencillers in comic books: Mike Weiringo. Nice guy by many accounts and a vegetarian because of his love for animals but died of an aortic dissection at forty-four. While I do not know if his diet had anything to do with his passing, his vegetarianism did not prevent it either.

Gorillas are primarily herbivores. Apparently, they eat feces and/or insects from ime to time, which aids in consumption of B12.
