ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: how the hell can you offer advice on jobs, as you've obviously never held one?

It is nonsense to want the best tools (efficient teachers) when you don't have good goals (a harmonious society).

If Benoit says something in the forest and nobody is there to hear him speak, is he still a moron?

Affirmative Action seems to insult the minorities; it suggests that they are not competent enough to get jobs on their own.
There are successful people of minority status who have prospered due to their own efforts. For others it is easier to blame their colour, race, religion, gender, whatever, for their failures. There are equal opportunities in Canada for everyone to get educated and/or trained for a career. Whether one takes advantage of the opportunities or doesn't should be up to the individual and they shouldn't have to be pushed to take advantage of the opportunities.
I think it is deplorable that certain services and even in politics, minorities are recruited simply for show or to fill a quota.
Canada has lowered its standards to accomodate those who are too lazy or stupid to better themselves and this includes minorities AND whites too. The result is seen in the sloppy work ethics of the day.
No, I definitely do not agree with affirmative action. I think it is bad for those who take advantage of it as well as for those who get shafted by it. And it certainly boosts intolerance.

Logically, if you are certain to know the criteria by which a society can judge what is or is not a good result, you will see Affirmative action as inappropriate.

No need to get after her Brenda, she'll have to debate with Beniot, that will be punishment enough.

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: $1: Required Qualifications: • Aboriginal Certificate Program Graduate • Early Childhood Certificate Program • Bachelor of Education and Professional Teaching Certificate • Eligible for Nunavut Teacher Certificate My wife was perusing one of the teacher recruitment sites and noticed several jobs had this listed. Would it be acceptable to state, in an adverisement, that only whites of European ancestry need apply for this teaching position, since the school is located in a predominantly white area and the students are predominantly white?
a 50 cents polemic.
