I've only been to Filthy McNasty's on Whyte Ave, it was pretty decent. In Camrose (an hour south of Edmonton), I usually go to the Irish Pub. It's open mic night every Wednesday and Friday and there is some really great music. It's always a good time there. A lot of people go the OC's or the Pulse, ...

You could get the Big Sugar version of 'Oh Canada', no lyrics, just pure guitar (kinda like what Hendrix did to their anthem, but without all the feedback). It's found on the "Brother and Sister..." album...

The talk of the work ethic of the young, it quite frankly depends on the attitude of the employer as well. I have worked a couple of jobs where you try your hardest as a part-timer and work your ass off, but the bosses treat you lower than dirt because you're not only a student but a part-timer. It ...

I hear about students flooding out of Saskatchewan right out of high school, and it is true. I am one of them. The difference is I am going back. Some do it to get away from family because all they've seen is our province, while others do it for the quick buck in oil and get stuck there. It happens,...

What are the 'titles' for the winners of the various pro juniour leagues? Memorial cup for WHL. Actually, the Memorial Cup is for all of CHL, that's the WHL, OHL and the QJMHL and ECHL I think (not positive on those last two). And the NHL is the gaurdian of the cup, I don't know who has legal right...

A friend of our families is a guide for American hunters that come up to Canada to hunt geese. He was talking to a new set of hunters that he was recommended to and they were talking about what they would need on their trip. He told them that they were picking a bad weekend to come up because it was...

I just feel that the 'empty space' of the 2004/2005 season would be a painful indicator of what has transpired. It wouldn't be the first year missed on the Cup, but the reasons this time would be much less than the last couple (war and illness I believe). But I think it's a pretty cool idea to let ...

Anyone watch the new 'Simpsons' episode tonight when they go to Canada for cheap medicine. So awesome. My favourite part was when they were talking to the old guy playing poker and he gave them their fake health cards that were 'gauranteed to get you enough drugs to make Regina look like Saskatoon'....

Hockey isn't dead though just because the NHL says it is. There's still the AHL and CHL that have great games. Everyone was talking about the World Juniors and how great they are, they came from the CHL (WHL was a huge chunk). And I think Sportsnet even broadcasts AHL games, so you can still watch s...
