I don't think that being a rookie precludes you from taking a leadership role on a team. Bobby Orr was an assistant in his rookie year. http://www.dropthepucks.com/sotg/The%20Orr.htm Not to compare the abilities of the two players, but to bestow an 'A' on an exceptional player is not unheard of.

He was probably sick and tired of playing for a team that put an "A" on the jersey of an 18 year old kid. Maybe so, but when that kid is leading the team in scoring, I think an 'A' is justified. The retirement is definately a shocker, though. I never knew the shoulder was so bad. He was always a hi...

I agree with the firing. Too bad about Rick Green, though. He was alright.

This opens the door for Larry Robinson. Hopefully the Habs give him a job, perhaps not head coach, but assistant for sure.

Your chart proves my point. So they didn't win gold for that seven years, they medaled in 15 of the 16 years after 1989. Before then there was only ten medals since 1974. So you see, back when it was a struggle just to win a medal, gold was a big deal. Now, if they don't win gold then everyone asks ...

Nafta cost me my good paying manufacturing job, as I'm sure it has many others, when LaZBoy Canada closed down in December. There is no doubt that the North American economy is moving away from manufacturing and into more service based jobs. Lately the factory closings have been coming fast and furi...

The Hoover Dam and maybe even the Panama Canal should be among the finalists, I think. Even though they are built by 'our civilization', they are still wondrous. Also, maybe the Chunnel.

Unfortunately for the Expos, when they did have a great team in 94, the strike killed their chance of a World Series. If they win that year, maybe attendance picks up and they stay. Baseball has a long tradition in Montreal. I believe Jackie Robinson made his professional debut there. Noone can say ...

Was there ever any doubt? I used to get excited about the juniors back when they didn't win every time. Nowadays they just dominate. It usually isn't even a good game. Just look at the D. What, did they allow 5 goals in 7 games or something like that. This is where Canada is way ahead of other count...

Either legalize it or leave it as it is. Decrim would put more money in their pockets which tempts them to steal more.
