The Russian media has started the propaganda war to justify a Russian invasion and annexation of the Crimea.

I'm thinking we'll see the Russian military invade by this time next week.

A little off, but prescient nonetheless.

$1:
NATO reveals satellite images as proof that Russian troops have invaded Ukraine with ‘highly sophisticated weaponry’
A top NATO official produced satellite photos Thursday to back up his claim that at least 1,000 Russian troops have crossed into Ukraine.

Dutch Brigadier General Nico Tak said the 1,000 Russian soldiers was a conservative estimate and said another 20,000 Russian troops were right over the border.

The satellite images provide what NATO called additional evidence that Russian combat soldiers, equipped with sophisticated heavy weaponry, are operating inside Ukraine’s sovereign territory.

Quite a lot of former Soviet weapons were dismantled and the uranium/plutonium used in US power generation.

Wrong city, Doc.

The one you want to read is Munich.

Then Member of Parliament for Epping, Winston Churchill said: "Britain and France had to choose between war and dishonour. They chose dishonour. They will have war".

Actually, when this whole thing began just after the Sochi Olympics, I thought about the 1936 Olympics in Berlin and how well that went. As I used to quote - "History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme." - Mark Twain.

...And another 'rhyme' - didn't China say the troops in the Korean war were really 'off duty volunteers' as well?

Well, now I'm calling it for the annexation of Ukraine east of the Dneiper before Christmas. Maybe even a full-on general war at the same time.

I'm still interested in what's going to happen with all of the Soviet troops that are massed on the Belarus-Ukraine border. Those forces are poised to be in Kiev within hours of being ordered to move.

More or less.

Something else to note. Our failure to press the fight against the Chinese resulted in the continued existence of North Korea, which has been a thorn in everyone's side ever since.

...and the Russians are so bad that Sweden and Finland are aligning with NATO. At the same time the Russians have been daily violating Finland's airspace. It would not surprise me if the Russians make some sort of move against Finland before the Finns complete an agreement with NATO.

The President is the Commander In Chief of your nation and your armed forces. That means you have a legal and patriotic obligation to follow his leadership in times of war.

Eight years of listening to the Dummycrats and the left shitting on Bush during a war set the precedent that says I don't have to give a shit what Obama says or does.

I would have like to have been there if some grunt in your squad told you to go to hell and refused to obey your orders because he didn't like the political party you supported. When you're in uniform you park your crap at the door before you come in. If you don't like the rules then get the hell out and play your silly little civilian political games when you're no longer in the service.

Russia has about 3 months to secure the road from Russia to Crimea. The idea of course is an alternate port for gas exports to Europe since using Ukrainian pipelines is not going to be an option.

I am not sure what Putin's endgame is, I anticipate even if he is able to annex Eastern Ukraine, he will continue to poke western Ukraine but the gas is obviously a major goal before winter.

You'd have been disappointed. Mostly because no one joins the Corps in the mistaken belief that it's a jobs program. Meaning that the only orders we never liked were the ones where we had to let Haji live.

I am no longer in uniform and I got the hell out. Again, I don't have to give a sh*t what Obama says or does and war or no war I'll say what I want about him.

Control of the Odessa pipeline would require Kharkov, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Odessa oblasts. The majority of gas to Europe goes right through Kyiv and the western border of Ukraine with Slovakia. All very scary.
